Purpose CULTURAL REDRESS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Description HAPU PRESENTATIONS for Cultural Redress for Te Atiawa Iwi and all Iwi within the Rohe of North Taranaki
An INVITATION is extended to all descendants to attend the Hapu Hui which are being held to develop a collective submission,
taking into account the losses suffered through the confiscation of land and resources as a result of the Land Wars of 1860.
The final Submission and Recommendation will be the basis of the Cultural Redress to be adopted by the Iwi of Te Atiawa
and will list the losses sufferred . It will make up part of the overall Te Atiawa Raupatu Settlement with the Crown.
Iwi are encouraged to attend the Hui and participate. Registration by whakapapa will be a requirement.
This may be the last opportunity for all Te Atiawa descendants to particpate in the settlement process.
