DEED OF MANDATE
Deed of Mandate recognised by the Crown
The mandate given by Te Atiawa to TAIA to negotiate the Treaty of Waitangi Claim has been recognised by the Crown.
TAIA sought the mandate from Te Atiawa members by postal vote which returned 98% support.
OTS invited submissions in January and seven were received. OTS subsequently advised that it recognised the TAIA Mandate without conditions.
The next step is to enter into a Terms of Negotiation with the Crown.
