TREATY OF WAITANGI CLAIM - Signing the Terms of Negotiation - the Ceremony

Details of the Ceremony on Wednesday 17 March.

The ceremony for signing the Terms has been organised and arranged by the Puketapu Delegate, Grant Knuckey.  The ceremony will take place at Owae Marae, Waitara,  in front of the Whare Wakairo , Te Ika A Maui.

 

10am       Establishment of the signing plinth

10.30       Te Atiawa Iwi and Kaumatua assemble

10.45       Powhiri - special guest and colonial sword and badge

11am       Powhiri - Local Manuhiri  

11.45       Powhiri for Ministers of the Crown

12noon    Waikorero and speeches

                Signing the Terms of Negotiation

                Hakari

2pm         Ministers and officals depart .

 

 

TAIA acknowledges the support and assistance of the Ngaia Whanau.   The Ngaia Whanau is holding a whanau reunion at Owae for the week beginning the 15th and have invited Te Atiawa and the Crown on to the Marae as their guests.
